Winter Games: Football in the Erzgebirge mountains.

The name of the town is Pockau-Lengefeld, which is located in the Erzgebirge mountains in the South-East of Germany.

The name of the home football club is FSV Pockau-Lengefeld, they play in 1. Kreisklasse Erzgebirge Ost (level 10) and they share their 3G pitch in the winter months with other teams.

These photos were taken at the Kreisliga Erzgebirge Ost (level nine) match FSV Zschopau/Krumhermersdorf vs SpVgg Neundorf/Thermalbad Wiesenbad (3:2).

FSV Zschopau/Krumhermersdorf is, interestingly, a former DDR Oberliga club.

The British have a thing for guessing when snow will fall in the winter time but here it is just another feature of match day.
