Burnley FC: No Nay Never — Terrace Edition

As a town, Burnley is the epitome of perseverance.

The fact that people question how Burnley FC does so well from a population of c80,000 is testament to the town’s endurance.

Go back to the industrial revolution and Burnley was a powerhouse, with its wares helping drive the national economy and beyond. There were mills, mines and all manner of manufacturing.

The town remains a hard-working one to this day and the football club has to have a work ethic, given the strong sporting competition in Lancashire, where every dot on the map comes with its own team.

So Burnley FC is by no means a small town club and in the hearts of the supporters at Turf Moor, they are a big deal just waiting for the good times to come round the corner.

Humbleness and fierce pride blend when protecting something you have built. English football needs clubs like Burnley.

The football club fires the passion of the people of Burnley for their team that have just secured promotion back to the Premier League.

Don’t worry about where the Clarets will fit in at football’s top table because for the people of Burnley, their town is at the centre of it all and they will persevere no matter what.

Like the theme to the folk song “The Wild Rover” which the Burnley fans have eagerly adapted, ”No nay never” is as much a declaration that there’s no place like home and their home is at Turf Moor.
